Anita Miller Rieder is a unique flutist, expert at both modern and historical flutes. She plays with the newly formed Ars Anitigua, a period instrument chamber ensemble, and is featured on “A Vivaldi Concert” on Cedille label. As principal flute of the Lake Forest Symphony, Anita plays frequently with many famous soloists. A winner of the Chicago Union League Civic and Arts competition, she has performed recitals at Orchestra Hall, and has received the prestigious Rose Faye Thomas award sponsored by the Chicago Musicians Club of Women, of which she is now president. Anita received her doctoral degree in flute performance from Northwestern University and received a Fulbright scholarship for study in London.
